As long as you are treating the vehicle with respect, there’s nothing wrong with taking a snack break in an Uber or Lyft.
Can we eat in Uber?
Generally speaking, it’s best to consider basic “airplane rules” while riding with Uber or Lyft, especially if you’re using a multi-rider service. That means: Don’t eat smelly food (and ask before you eat or drink things in their car). Don’t smoke (unless they say it’s okay—they may join you).

Yes, the drivers are independent contractors and they drive their own car. It’s perfectly legal to deny service to drunken or unruly passengers (or passenger-to-be). As long as the driver cancels the ride before it begins, say upon arriving at the location, the passenger will not be able to rate the driver at all.
Can Uber drivers kick you out?
Yes, they can.
If there is a good reason, say a rider being unruly, drunk and/or violent, the drivers can and are encouraged to pull the car over, and terminate the trip immediately. Also, the driver can provide feedback to Uber and have such a rating can be removed.
Is Uber cheaper than a taxi?
A taxi is likely to also be the better option when demand is high. Even without surge pricing, UberX can be more expensive than taking a taxi, especially for shorter trips. Uber charges a minimum fare of $8 for simply getting into the car, compared with $2.50 for New York’s yellow cabs.

It’s really not dangerous at all, safer than taxis and even public transit. We do get screened and must pass back ground checks before we can drive and the passengers all have accounts so we know who they are before they get in the car. We don’t pick up people “hailing” an Uber from the street like a taxi.

Most passengers hop into the rear seats and often sit diagonal from the driver. But if you prefer to ride in the front seat, check with your driver if that’s cool.

To use your Uber Cash, choose it as your payment method when requesting your trip. If you don’t have enough Uber Cash to cover your ride, you’ll be given the option to buy just enough to cover your ride, or set any amount of Uber Cash you want. Uber Cash is usable only on rides and Eats orders in the US.

How does Uber decide which driver gets the ride?
When a driver is logged in, the app assigns them pickup requests from people nearby. The system metes out feedback by tracking the proportion of pickups a driver accepts (Lyft and Uber each give drivers 15 seconds to decide), and averaging the rating that passengers give their driver after a ride.
